Many bloggers have discovered a new approach to garner links, the paid review and now the prize review, the concept is not new and has been around since the time of the first shop (well maybe later) in less the 10 words tell me why x is great. Only this is the internet and most of these people are SEO or internet marketers, so its write an honest unbiased review while starring at this wad of fivers that must be over 250 words and includes the following words…
Ok I’m taking it to the extreme here, but most ask for a honest review of about 250 words but is it worth it to the site or the blogger?
- site – Get a set of prizes, doesn’t have to cost much, and offer links as the runners up prize for everyone. Finacially its better then paid for reviews, you don’t need to worry about keywords as the reviews will most likely be from your existing readership, who will want to indicate your subject matter well.
- Blogger – This is the more difficult one, on the one hand the possibility of a prize and a link back from a favourite site is very tempting but can you write an honest review, and why are you doing it?
Personally I think there is nothing wrong about doing site reviews for links, I have been doing this on my own blog since it started and will continue to write reviews about sites and accepting links. If some one offered to pay me to write review of their site I might have a greater problem but as it hasn’t happened yet its not an issue.
