Are you reputable?

Tim has written up a short article for Engtech regarding reputation management the article an Introduction to reputation management is well worth a read if you use or are planning on using the web for any thing other then personal stuff, or if you plan to get married!

Tim has previously written a longer series on reputation management for Webdigity forums a few months ago, and has been using the term and discussing personal branding for several years. He might not have been the first to use the term but he was certainly one of the early promoters of something that is steadily heading towards being mainstream.

Getting people to link toyou can be a nightmare, but the simplest way is to simply ask sorry beg for links, and after my earlier boo boo with the wordpress.com blog I thought I could do with getting some good links going to timnash.me.uk by my calculations its due to hopefully come out of the sandbox in the next few weeks. So how to garner links well by offering something in return, in this case another link or two.

Welcome to one of the dumbest SEO mistakes to make

Its no secret that I have a personal website and blog nor that we have been experimenting with it a bit, this week I choose to take the bullet and merge the blog and site together.

My biggest worry was that Google would see my site as spam, having decided that my wordpress.com site was the original (though with so few posts this was very unlikely however ultimately this is a test for if and when we migrate clients blogs. The Tim Nash Experiment part1

One of my favourite comedians is a man called Dave Gorman who first made his name trying to find other Dave Gormans and later went on to go around the world on tour talking about googlewhacks. Why do I bring this piece of mindless trivia to you well simply I want to tell you I’m Tim Nash the IT consultant not the painter who’s landscapes are very nice, and not the Tim Nash who’s grip appears in such films as Mr & Mrs Smith.
